Looking after the men who keep our industry moving
November is internationally recognised as Men’s Health Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on the physical and mental health challenges faced by men, and to encourage open conversations and proactive care.
At Danica, we work closely with thousands of male seafarers and shore-based professionals across the maritime industry. We know that life at sea and in demanding operational roles can take a toll — long periods away from home, irregular sleep, stress, and limited access to healthcare can all impact well-being.
That’s why this month, we’re encouraging everyone, onboard and ashore, to take a moment to check in with themselves and each other.
This November, let’s focus on:
Physical health: Schedule regular medical check-ups and don’t ignore symptoms as early detection saves lives.
Mental health: Talking helps. Whether it’s a shipmate, family member, or a mental health helpline, sharing how you feel is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Connection: Life at sea can be isolating. Stay in touch with loved ones and look out for your colleagues onboard.
Small conversations can make a big difference. Together, we can create a more supportive environment for everyone in maritime.
At Danica, we remain committed to promoting the health, safety, and welfare of all crew.
