Danica Crewing Specialists Founder and CEO Henrik Jensen has given his backing to the IMO initative Day of the Seafarer, which takes place this year on June 25th.

He said: Day of the Seafarer 2025 is here and is focusing on the IMO’s My Harassment-Free Ship campaign.

I agree that this is an excellent topic to highlight; bullying and harassment are without doubt very harmful to the crew member’s mental wellbeing and motivation. We cannot forget this leads to a wider safety risk as the team onboard the vessel is not operating at its best capability – which is essential to running a safe ship.

Decisive onboard leadership, which creates an inclusive environment onboard and eliminate any trace harassment, is essential.
